FALL WARDROBE AMAZON FINDS FOR UNDER $30
So since the last Amazon try-on haul (“6 Incredibly Affordable Fall Cardigans from Amazon”) was such a huge success (seriously, ya’ll exploded my inbox with requests!), I figured that I would give you guys another one! I decided to do a bit more digging for some great Prime finds that could be worn through the fall season. I’d been looking for a few specific items and I’m happy to report that I found exactly what I was looking for on Prime! This Amazon haul was soo good!
As always, I saved all my live try-on sessions in my Instagram highlights under AMAZON haul. If you’re watching them and find something you like, you can swipe up on any of the links to that exact item!
I found two really great dresses on this Amazon haul so I’m going to consider this a huge win. Let me tell you - I have the hardest time finding dresses. I chalk this up to two things: 1) As a fit person, I find that my upper body is much larger than a normal person my size. Therefore, shirts, which I lovingly refer to as being made for ants, tend to be so small in the shoulders and arms for me. It’s always a struggle to find tops that are fitted throughout the chest and torso but that aren’t also too small for me in the shoulders and arms. It’s interesting, too, because I don’t feel as though I have overly large arms/shoulders for a girl, but this is my biggest struggle.
2) The same goes for my waist to hip ratio. Again, I seem to have a bit more - let’s call it backside - than the average girl. This means that usually if I find a dress that fits over my larger backside, it doesn’t fit in the shoulders or chest, and so on and so forth. So, let’s just say that dresses are the ultimate struggle for me. So, finding two in one haul? This is like gold (I also found some that were terrible but they didn’t make the cut, obviously).
This dress is great for a variety of reasons. I really like the cowl neck because I think it adds a certain level of dressiness to an otherwise simple cotton dress. And, even though the cowl neck drops down low, it’s not revealing at all. Totally work and family appropriate! And, it’s super snuggly - almost like wearing a scarf! And it comes in 15 freakin’ colors so you could have one in every color.
I also am a HUGE fan of this fit and flare style and I feel like this dress could be flatteringly on so many people. It doesn’t fit overly tight anywhere (a win for my arms and shoulders!), but it tapers in so nicely at the waist. I love that it gives the dress such a feminine shape.
The only negative I have on this dress is that it’s fairly short (again, I’m 5’3”) but I don’t think it’s TOO short, especially if you’re someone who has a shorter torso with longer legs (definitely not me!). I would pair it with a pair of opaque leggings or tights so that there’s nothing showing! It also comes in a ton of colors! I’m wearing a size small and it definitely fits TTS. And it’s only $20!!
I consider this dress, hands-down, one of the best things I’ve ever gotten on Amazon. Not only is this dress incredibly soft, but it comes in 20 different colors. Yes, you heard me. 20. And, at $16 dollars, it’s something that I would absolutely stock up on! The fit is that good.
This swing dress is a super soft, stretchy cotton fabric, which works perfectly for this style. My biggest issue with being petite is that I’m going to get swallowed up in fabric because I’m not tall enough to pull off a dress with a bunch of volume. Because this fabric is so light, it just seems to tuck in at all the right places.
Note: Even though this doesn’t pertain to me, this fabric and style, with it’s stretchy flowy material, would be super bump friendly for any expecting mama’s out there.
It also doesn’t fit overly tight in the arms (yay!), but is just tight enough to be very flattering throughout. It’s also an entirely appropriate length, so you could wear this with flats for a casual look, with boots and a scarf for a fall-inspired outfit, or, it could easily be dressed up for work. I’m wearing a size small and it fits TTS.
So, I’m a sucker for big, thick blanket scarves. This scarf might tie the green swing dress with my favorite Amazon purchase from this haul. First off, it’s $10. But even better, it’s amazing quality! I can’t really get over how similar it is to some of my scarves that I’ve gotten from the Nordstrom sale last year. Of course, those scarves are all $30+ if you don’t catch the sale, so this is a killer deal. I just can’t say enough times how soft this scarf is! Love it so much. It also comes in a few different colors, and I bought two- the perfect combination of fall colors.
When I first saw this sweater, it immediately made me think of something I’ve seen before at J.Crew or Banana Republic. Which, of course makes me so much more excited about this $28 dupe. It has a slightly oversized slouchy fit, which I like personally because it’s just a super casual basic. It’s also a fairly thick sweater and the heart is actually a cabled cotton, which gives a little bit of a pattern contrast! This is definitely another cute option for work, as it could be dressed up with a pair of dress pants or dressed down with jeans and boots. It comes in 5 or so different colors and I couldn’t decide if I like this grey and cream color combination or the black and beige option better! I’m wearing a size small and it runs a bit oversized. If you’d like a tighter fit, I recommend sizing down.
I like graphic tees, but I also feel like they are a piece in my wardrobe that I don’t want to spend too much money on. This tee is only $9 and it’s slightly oversized in the way that slouchy casual tees should be. I personally like the looser fit (wearing size small) but if you want something more fitted, you should size down. The looser fit is great if you want to knot the tee up to wear with a pair of high-waisted jeans or yoga pants!
Sweaters are one of my favorite things to buy, even though as practical items, they’re probably not the best. Austin doesn’t get as cold as Chicago, so I don’t have as much need for them, but I still love a good one. This is a great basic turtleneck. The fabric is similar to wool in that it’s a tad scratchy, but overall, it’s a great quality sweater. I like that the turtleneck is loose around the neck and the fit is fitter. I’m wearing a size small and it runs TTS.
The last thing that I got from this Amazon haul was this waffle knit tie-front thermal. This is very reminiscent of the uber-popular thermal from Urban Outfitters, but I personally like this one so much better. I originally purchased the UO thermal after seeing it on a few bloggers and I hated the dolman sleeves on it (andddd it got sent back). I don’t like when shirts run super thick through the middle and have those big, batwing sleeves. This thermal is fitted throughout so it’s not baggy in the arms at all. It also has plenty of room to tie in the front, meaning that it doesn’t suddenly become a crop top (another pet peeve of mine). I think this top comes in 10 different colors and I’m seriously thinking about investing in another color for the fall season. And for $18, I can afford to! I’m wearing size small and it fits TTS.
When I put this snuggly fleece up on my Instagram stories, it was a huge hit. Literally, ya’ll flooded by DMs with questions and requests. It’s a perfect dupe for the Abercrombie fleece (which, I owe too). It’s made slightly different and I personally think this makes it better. So, if you’re a fan of Patagonia hoodies, you’ll know that the fabric is more “furry” than fleece. That’s exactly what this is! Fleece has a tendency to pill as it is worn and washed, so this is a great compromise. And, this pullover is just a tad bit thinner than the A&F fleece, which is something that I like, too! I got a size small and it fits TTS.
