What We're Shopping for On the First Day Of the #NSale

Our 9 Must Have Picks from the Nordstrom Sale

With so many posts going on for the Nordstrom sale, it would be wanton of us to not include some of our personal favorite picks and include exactly what we are shopping for.

As someone who didn’t shop the sale last year extensively, I can say that I was much more excited than some as I went into this sale. However, there were many repeat articles from prior years, which means for some, the sale was lackluster. For me, I was excited because I had a few solid items on my radar and I’m set on not getting out-bought this year.

Also, I know that it goes against the whole “Blogger 101” mentality that I’m likely supposed to push to you, but I do want to clear up one thing - If it is NOT within your budget, do not feel encouraged to sign up for the credit card. I do not have the Nordstrom Visa, I have the rewards card, which I can only use at Nordstrom (and I like it that way!). It allows me to get points back, but I can also only use it at Nordstrom.

As well, items will be restocked. It is my understanding this year that there is more inventory in each style to prevent the “sell-out” from years past. However, I can’t confirm that, but would like to tell you that you will not miss out on an item if you don’t have the credit card. Generally speaking, most items will be restocked by Public Access.

Also full disclosure: I did not get “exclusive pre-shop” access to shop the sale before it’s available for everyone. Therefore, I’m making these recommendations as my own personal shopping list and will share my honest thoughts with you when I receive the items and will be doing a try-on in IG stories.

I’ve also put together a capsule wardrobe that I’m a big fan of and that allows you to get approximately 10 items from the sale (if you don’t already have these basics) and create SO many different outfits.

#NSale Sneak Peek - Best of Shoes

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale - Home Edition

That being said, these are the items I’m most excited about this season:

Plaid Boyfriend Shirt - Treasure & Bond - To be fair, I linked the Rails plaid in my graphic and I’m still not 100% sure how I feel about a shirt that costs that much. I wear a TON of plaid and the girl who would love to move to the PNW is also very pleased by this. But, I’ve gotten a few plaids before from T&B and I think they’re a great quality for a good price point. Plus, they work so well with so many different options in the fall. Boots, leggings, vests. Plus, an added bonus is that the Treasure & Bond plaids are usually pretty long, which means you can get away with covering the bum.

Barefoot Dreams Cozy Cardigan - There’s a lot of questions about whether or not the Barefoot Dreams cardigans are worth it. Having snuggled up with the blankets, I can honestly say they’re pretty dreamy. The Barefoot Dreams cardigan is higher than my normal price point for an item like this but again, i feel that quality in a piece like this goes a long way. They hold up incredibly well, they’re a layering piece that will get tons of use, so I don’t feel like I’m over-spending. There are some other good cardigans in the sale (honorable mention below) but I think if I had to only pick one, it would be this one.

Madewell Transport Leather Tote - I’ve wanted one of these totes for a while. I love the size of it and I love how versatile it is. It’s one of those items I say that I’m going to buy but then somehow never get around to it. Having recently bought a Madewell bucket bag (easily my most carried bag- also 30% off right now with code VERYRARE) I know how good of quality their leather is. Plus, it’s a completely versatile piece for the entire year and I can fit my laptop and 109485 planners and organizers in it.

BP Long Leopard Jacquard Cardigan - So, this is one of the returning items from last year. I’m a fan of leopard in small doses and I’ve seen a few hints that this cardigan is more of a subtle leopard (think tan/cream) this year, so if that’s the case, I’m all for it. I’m definitely going to order it, but we’ll see how it fits my 5’3” frame when I get it. If it’s too long, it’s going back. Time will tell.

BlankNYC Suede MiniSkirt - Okay, Blank NYC makes some of the BEST leather products, hands down. I have one of their moto jackets from last year and it is SO heavy and so nice. Nothing compares to the quality of their stuff. So, I’m going to assume that their mini skirt is going to be awesome too. Again, need to make sure it’s not too short, but I’m imagining this as a great work option (for those in an office) or a date night option with a cute pair of booties and a pair of leggings (or thin black tights) underneath. The tan and the grey are both really great color options for the fall, so it’s going to be a game time decision on which one I get. But again, the quality of their stuff can’t be beat. (In fact: If you only had to get one item from the Nsale, I would get a BlankNYC moto jacket. There, I said it.)

Shop BlankNYC:

Madewell Fleet Jacket - If you haven’t noticed already, my love for Madewell runs deep. I’ve had my eye on one of the Fleet Jackets for awhile, but haven’t been able to pull the trigger because of the cost. This one is a great price and I absolutely love the yellowish-brown tone.

Frye Carly Tall Boot - I’ve wanted a tall pair of flat riding boots for a season or two now. I’m always a little late to the trends because I’m hesitant to jump onto anything too trendy, but the flat boots are both comfortable and functional. The problem is that I have larger than average calves for my shoe size (6.5!) so I usually have a hard time finding some that work for me. The 14” calf circumference should work for me and there is an extended size as well for others.

Vince Camuto Gigietta Bootie - I saw these pop up in the catalog and was immediately drawn to the pretty nude color. However, I’ve seen a few other bloggers raving that these were a good pick, so I’m crossing my fingers they’re not sold out. Vince Camuto is one of my go-to brands in terms of quality. Their shoes are a bit more expensive, but I think that their products are worth it (much like BlankNYC) and they hold up. Quality after all, is everything in a good pair of booties. Second only maybe to being comfortable. No one wants a shoe that rubs, after all.

1.State Mylo Bootie - Last but not least, are these grey booties. I really like the detailing and the taller heel, but I’m not sold on them once I get them. I think 1.State items can be hit or miss, so I’m crossing my fingers when I get them that they are as nice of quality as they look online. We shall see!

There’s a few more items below that are either very similar to the ones that I shared above or are my second choice if some of the above is sold out - so I’ll afford them some honorable mentions.
