Around the Swift offices, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is like Christmas. In fact, it is usually the one sale each year that we look forward to and stock up on wardrobe essentials. It's a great time to nab cozy soft Barefoot Dreams cardigans and discounted jackets. But that doesn't mean that it is the only great sale that Nordstrom has during the year. A popular crowd favorite, the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale, takes place in the spring and fall, while customers wait for the Anniversary Sale to open.

What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
Aside from the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale, whose dates are usually set in the spring to coincide with Memorial Day, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the retailer’s signature sale that rivals Black Friday or Cyber Monday. This is one of the largest sales in the summer, with previews of cardigans, sweaters, jackets, and fall wardrobe staples and accessories. For fashion lovers and home find seekers, this is the best time to score serious deals on a variety of brands and products.
Discounts are usually steep (sometimes as much as 50%) on brand new, seasonal items. No last season items here! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is also a great way to preview fall fashion trends, outfit styles, and upcoming wardrobe must-haves. It also comes at the perfect time of year to start thinking about holiday gift giving and beauty gift sets for stocking stuffers. What Day is Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in 2026?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is an almost month-long shopping event full of the best deals. The Preview window (consider it a Nordstrom presale) is available approximately one week before Icon Level opens for shopping and a full two weeks before the sale is available to Nordstrom Insiders.This online preview has replaced the catalog from prior years, but still gives you the perfect chance to see what items will be on sale and start planning your purchases.

How to shop the sales - the best strategy
Since items are only on sale for a limited time, they WILL sell out quickly. Again, this isn’t a scare tactic - it just simply requires a bit of planning. We would highly suggest checking out the catalog and adding your picks to a virtual online wishlist. As we said, none of this is available on the website just yet, but you’ll want to be ready to pounce if you’re not wanting to wake up early. We would also highly recommend shopping online. Every Nordstrom across the country is different, but many times, sizes will sell out quicker in store and items that are being tried on and returned will be jumbled together. We also hate fighting crowds!
If you don’t want to wait for items to be shipped to your house, you can always select in-store pickup. Nordstrom always offers free shipping and returns, so you won’t necessarily save money, but you if you need another size, you might be able to swap it out when you pick up your merchandise in-store.

What is the Nordy Club?
Nordstrom has its own personal reward program, giving you access to special events, early shopping, and more! Plus, the best part about the Nordy Club is that members can earn reward points that can be redeemed for Nordstrom notes. For every 1,000 points a Nordy Club member earns, you receive a $10 Nordstrom note! These notes can then be redeemed in stores or online at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack.
Since we suggest shopping online for the best selection, it’s important to know when your Early Access begins, so you can shop before items sell out.

While Members receive additional perks such as free alterations and early access to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, the real incentives kick in when you reach Influencer or Ambassador level.

While we don’t advocate opening a credit card if it would cause you to spend outside your budget, in the case of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, it can be a great way to gain early access and save some extra money! Just remember: pay the card off immediately.
Does the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Restock?
Did we mention that items sell out during the sale at Nordstrom? Items can go quickly, which is why having a wish list at the ready is one of the most important parts of the sale. However, after Nordstrom Early Access concludes, there are often minimal restocks before Public Access opens. Often, the inventory of the N Sale is slowly released as the Nordy Club levels are allowed to shop. However, Nordstrom has said that there is no guarantee that there will be restocks.
If an item that you want is sold out, we would recommend checking the website daily or setting alerts for when it comes back in stock. Some restocks for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale will occur as people return and exchange items that they have purchased.

2026’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale features a large variety of travel-friendly options, whether you were shopping for a new carry-on bag or a weekender for an upcoming getaway. After all, this is something that needs to reliably hold up against all of the abuses that travel entails.
