Blackberry Whiskey Mash

Blackberry Whiskey Mash

Love a good old-fashioned but don't keep the ingredients around? This mash creates the sweet taste of an old-fashioned without the sweet vermouth.

Bonus: It could be amazing with gin!

Blackberry Whiskey Mash

  • 2 ounce of whiskey (or gin!)
  • 1/2 ounce St. Germain
  • 6-8 blackberries
  • 3-4 mint leaves
  • 1 orange slice
  • 1/2 lime
  • 1 bottle of Topo Chico (or your choice of seltzer water)
  • Honey for sweetness (optional)
  1. In a rocks glass, put four blackberries (or more to taste), whiskey, St. Germain, mint leaves, orange slice and juice of 1/2 lime. Drizzle honey if needed. Muddle together.
  2. Fill a shaker to the top with ice or ice ball. Pour in whiskey mixture. Shake well.
  3. Fill the rocks glass to the rim with ice. Pour the chilled whiskey mixture and fill glass to the rim with Topo Chico.
  4. Garnish with additional blackberries and mint.

Enjoy!
